Apples and Rotten Apples

CEO, Andhra Pradesh, published a new set of voter lists in October. The list has not marked the deleted and added voter records. Dilip Sankarreddy from Hyderabad asked if I could compare the two versions and tell the added deleted voters. It took about ten minutes to write a script to compare the two lists and give the counts. The results were accurate and I felt good.

Sadly, with the pathetic state of voter lists of Karnataka, comparing two versions is far  more complicated task. Even then, the result cannot be accurate.

I am happy about the state of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh and sad about the situation in Karnataka.

The CEO’s tasks in Karnataka is not different from that of CEO, Andhra. We are not comparing apples with oranges. This is a case of apples and rotten apples that can cause food poisoning.
